Albanian Navy engages in extinguishing the fire on the ferry line Brindisi- Igoumenitsa

Two ships of the Albanian Navy have joined the efforts to extinguish the fire on the ferry line, Brindisi- Igoumenitsa, which was engulfed in flames last night at sea. Initially the fire was outside our territorial waters, but now the operation is being carried out in our territorial waters, 5 miles away from Porto Palermo.

In the operation that is being led by the Greek side, the ships of our Navy, Butrint and the patrol R-117 are also engaged. Earlier, passengers and crew members were evacuated from the ship.
