Minister Peleshi receives the Commander of KFOR: We are increasing the contribution of the Albanian Armed Forces in this mission

The Albanian Armed Forces will further increase its troop contribution to the NATO mission in Kosovo, KFOR.
Defence Minister Niko Peleshi received in a courtesy meeting the commander of KFOR, Major General Ferenc Kajári, in the framework of the latter's visit to our country.

After welcoming him, Minister Peleshi thanked Major General Kajári for the leadership shown in this important mission, not only for Kosovo, but for the entire Western Balkans region. He praised the irreplaceable role that KFOR has in creating and maintaining a safe environment, as well as for freedom of movement throughout the territory of Kosovo, but also in the wider region.

Further, the two interlocutors shared views on the current security situation on the Eastern borders of the Alliance and the impact that these developments may have on our region. For this, Mr. Peleshi asked for increased attention of KFOR, in order to anticipate the situations that may arise as a result of these developments.
Also, Minister Peleshi informed the KFOR Commander on the decision of the authorities of our country to increase the contribution of the Armed Forces in this mission, proving once again the importance of this mission for Albania.



On his part, General Kajári highly praised the Albanian troops currently serving in KFOR, noting the high level of their professionalism, and welcomed the decision of our country to increase its contribution to this mission. He further thanked Minister Peleshi for the continuous support that our country gives to the KFOR mission and assured that the professionalism and dedication of all troops under his command will continue to be at the highest levels.
Earlier, the commander of KFOR, Major General Ferenc Kajári, was received in a meeting by the Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces, Major General Bajram Begaj.
