The Ministry of Defense allocates ten million dollars to the municipalities for Civil Emergencies

Local self-government units will have more financial resources to cope with Civil Emergencies in their territory.

Pursuant to Law 45/2019, "On Civil Protection" and the budget of 2022, the Ministry of Defense has allocated to municipalities a total fund of 10 million $.This fund has been distributed to 61 municipalities of the Republic of Albania, based on the specific weight of the budget of each municipality to the total budget of all municipalities. This fund assists municipalities in fulfilling their obligations in the context of disaster risk reduction and civil protection.
However this is only the fund allocated to municipalities from the state budget, as according to law 45/2019 local self-government units can plan additional funds from their own local revenues, from funds that come directly from tax allocation. and national taxes, local borrowing, donations, etc.
