Peleshi attends the training of Land Force personnel by SFAB: Waiting for NATO certification

 

Defense Minister Niko Peleshi followed closely a training day of Land Force by a group of the Security Force and Assistance Brigade (SFAB), US European Command.

Minister Peleshi said that this training serves to increase the level of the Albanian Armed Forces as part of NATO, and the certification in September by the Alliance.

"In case of operations, and need, we have a deployable declared capacity in NATO, which is the Group - Infantry Battalion. Of course we need to continue training and maintain the standards required by NATO, and for that we need assistance. We have valuable assistance from the US strategic partner, which through the SFAB work together with the Land Force, Group - Infantry Battalion (GBKL) to raise them to the level required by NATO. We are convinced that in September, as far as we can see, with the progress of these exercises, trainings, we will successfully receive the certification of our declared capacity in NATO", - said Defense Minister Niko Peleshi.

Commander of the Land Force, Brigadier General Arben Kingji, as well as Captain Peter Habsburg, Brigade Commander, provided more details about training.
Currently in Zall - Herr is accommodated an SFAB team, consisting of experts in various fields (artillery, health, liaison, tactics, logistics, engineering, headquarters training, etc.), which will provide specialized assistance for GBKL. They will stay for a 6-month rotating period.

During this visit, sequences of training exercises were closely followed by the staff of the 2nd Infantry Battalion and various equipment was exhibited.
