Wildfires situation in Albania

According to data issued from the National Operational Center for Civil Emergencies, 15 fires have been reported in the last 24 hours.

After an uninterrupted work of the operational forces, it became possible to completely isolate the wildfires in:

• Tomorricë village, Skrapar municipality.
• Qukës Skënderbej village, Prrenjas municipality.
• Shetël village, Shijak municipality.
• Karbunare e Sipërme village and Balaj village, Lushnje municipality.
• Lalaj village, Fier municipality.
• Peshkpi village, Selenicë municipality.
• Cold Water Bay, Vlora municipality.
• Qafë - Mali village, Fushë Arrëz municipality.
• Mali i Jushit, Vau Dejës, municipality.
• Grudë e Re village, Shkodër municipality.
• Qarr village, Has municipality.
• Neighborhood No. 3, Kavaja municipality.

During the last 24 hours, were committed in total 368 people from firefighters, armed forces, municipal forces, police forces, employees of the protected areas administration, forest service, volunteer forces, 26 fire engines and a helicopter were used in the efforts to extinguish the flames.
The helicopter operated in the village of Ndrshen, Mirditë municipality and in the Shetël village, Shijak municipality.

Wildfires are active in:
• Medrshen village, Mirdita Municipality.
• Vinjolla village, Kurbin Municipality.

We repeat the call for all citizens to be careful in any action that could cause a fire. Failure to report small fire outbreaks in time encourages their spread to larger areas, so cooperate with the local government and the fire service!
