Fire situation in Albania

 

The situation of fires around the country, on August 11, 2022

According to the data from the National Operational Center of Civil Emergencies in CPNA, during the last 24 hours, 14 fires were reported, of which the fires were isolated and extinguished:

in Mehaj district, Malësi e Madhe municipality;
in Dushkarak village, Selenicë municipality;
in Lekaj village, Rrogozhinë municipality;
in Progjni village, Gjirokastër municipality;
in Blerimaj village, Kavajë municipality;
in Molisht village, Berat municipality;
in Pishë - Poro village, Fier municipality;
in Novosel village, Vlorë municipality;
in Vilëz village, Shkodër municipality;
in Shetaj village, Durrës municipality;

During the last 24 hours, 246 operational forces of the Fire Protection and Rescue Service, Armed Forces personnel, municipal forces, police forces, employees of the administration of protected areas, forest service, forces, volunteers and 30 fire engines were engaged in the operation to extinguish the outbreaks.

Currently, fires are active in:

1. In Mal Bardhë village, Kurbin municipality, local government forces and 50 volunteers were engaged yesterday. The work continues even today by the strength and capacities of the local government.
2. In the village of Sojnik and Tunjë, the municipality of Gramsh, where the commitment of the municipal structures for the isolation of the hearth continues.
3. In the village of Niçë, municipality of Pogradec, for which the fire service is working for the final extinguishment.
All active outbreaks occured outside residential areas.

We call on citizens to report to the state police structures any suspected case of intentional arson and to show increased caution in these days with high temperatures in the use of incendiary tools and any other activity related to fires.

We remind you that arson is punishable by law.
