Fire situation in Albania

The situation of fires around the country, August 8, 2022

According to the data from the National Operational Center of Civil Emergencies in AKMC, during the last 24 hours, 26 fires were reported, from which the fires were extinguished:

in the village of Burim, Dibër;
in the village of Mëhallëz, municipality of Divjakë;
in the village of Shënavlash, municipality of Durrës;
in the villages of Gorishovë and Drizë Myrteza, municipality of Fier;
in the village of Rrikaj, municipality of Kavajë;
in Forestry of Erseka and the village of Taç - Qendër, municipality of Kolonje;
in the village of Boboshticë, municipality of Korçë;
in the hill of Delvinë and the village of Zgërdhesh, municipality of Krujë;
in the village of Drenovë, municipality of Mallakastër;
in the village of Zenisht, municipality of Mat;
in the village of Plashnik i Madh, municipality of Poliçan;
in the village of Hadëraj, municipality of Selenicë;
in the village Shëngjergj, Tirana municipality;
in Delisuf village, Vlorë municipality;
in Çepan village, Skrapar municipality

During the last 24 hours, 588 operational forces of the Fire Protection and Rescue Service, armed forces, municipal forces, police forces, employees of the administration of protected areas, forest service, volunteer forces and 49 fire engines were engaged.

Currently, fires are active in:

1. In the village of Gjysulkanë, municipality of Tirana, a massive fire broke out in the forest area of this village, which also endangered the houses. Tirana municipality forces, supported by the armed forces and residents of the area, are engaged in extinguishing the fires.
2. The fire continues to be active in the place called "Bjeshka e Bregut", the village of Ura e Shtrenjtë and the village of Vilëz, Postribë administrative unit, Shkodër municipality, the fire brigade, 60 members of the Armed Forces and residents of area.
3. In the place called Mali i Tolës in the village of Lam i Madh, municipality of Mat, work continues on isolating and extinguishing the fire. Local forces have been engaged, 30 forest service employees from FA 4. Durrës Municipality, in the village of Shetaj, has continued to work on the ground to isolate and extinguish fires. 4. In the village of Zeze, the municipality of Krujë, work has been done to isolate and extinguish the fire that broke out yesterday evening in an area with bushes and brambles where houses were also endangered. The firefighting forces of the municipalities of Krujë, Kamëz, Tirana and Vorë have been activated, supported by 2 fire engines of the AF. The operation continues...
5. In Malbardhë village, Kurbin municipality, the firefighting forces, local government forces, 50 FA operatives supported by the AF helicopter were activated to control and extinguish the fire. The operation started in the early hours of the morning.
6. In the village of Shpërdhëze, Mirditë municipality, over 10 fires were activated in the space of one hour starting from the village of Shpërdhëze and towards the village of Bukmirë. The fire has engulfed areas of vineyards and oak forest. The firefighting forces of the municipality of Mirdita, the municipality of Lezhë and 4 firefighting units of the AF, the forces of the local government, supported by air with the FA helicopter, have been activated. The village of Spërrdheze was protected. The fire is considered intentional, residents have filed a complaint with the Police Station of Mirdita municipality. The operation continues...
7. In the village of Kusarth, municipality of Elbasan, there was a fire on a hillside with olive groves. The firefighting forces of the municipalities of Elbasan, Peqin, Cërrik, Belsh, forces from the local government and volunteers have been activated to bring the fire under control. The operation continues with the support of 30 military members for the final extinguishment.
We call on citizens to report to the state police structures any suspected case of intentional arson and to show extra caution in these days with high temperatures in the use of incendiary tools and any other activity related to fires.

All forces and capacities of the Civil Protection system are in full readiness to respond to situations caused by fire or any other emergency.
