Fire situation in Albania

Fire situation, today, August 4, 2022, 11:30 a.m.

According to the data from the National Operational Center of Civil Emergencies in CPNA, during the last 24 hours, 22 fires have been reported, of which 16 fires have been extinguished and 6 fires are active.
After an uninterrupted work of the operational forces in the field, it became possible to completely isolate and extinguish the fires in:

• Melgush village and Rranxa village, Vau Dejës municipality.
• Çernen village, Dibër municipality.
• Mukje village, Derven village, Kruje municipality.
• Plashnik i Madh village, Poliçan municipality.
• In the place called Uznovë, Berat municipality.
• Fier i Ri village and Savër village in Lushnjë municipality.
• Petov village, Fier municipality.
• In the administrative unit Region no. 5 and in the Partizani neighborhood, Vlorë municipality.
• Shkozë village, Selenica municipality.
• Golem village, Kavaja municipality.
• Çerkezë village and Mjull Bathore village, Tirana municipality.
• Postribë administrative unit, Shkodër municipality.
• Mal i Bardhë village, Kurbin municipality.

During the last 24 hours, 562 fire fighters, armed forces, municipal forces, police forces, employees of the administration of protected areas, forest service, volunteer forces, 47 fire engines have been engaged in actions to extinguish the flames.

Currently, fires are active in:
• In Majë e Zorgjit, Shala administrative unit, above the village of Ndrelysa, Shkodër municipality. Currently, the work of the local government forces is continuing.
• In the place called " Liqeni i Zi German ", in the village of German, municipality of Mat. Yesterday, local government forces, volunteers and armed forces worked, who were able to isolate some fires, the operation will continue today where local government forces and 50 military members will be engaged.
• In Shetaj village, Durrës municipality, field work continues to extinguish the fire that occurred on 19.07.2022. During the night, three other fires have appeared, which are at a distance of about 500 m from the main fire. The municipality of Durrës is working on opening the roads for the introduction of fire engines. The operation continues.
• In Dragobi village, Tropoje municipality, the fire that fell on a mountain area with beech trees continues to burn with low intensity inside its hearths. Today, the municipal forces and fire protection agency have started work on the isolation of active fires.
• In the village of Skuraj, the work of the Kurbin municipality continues, the intensity of the outbreaks is lower.
• Mal i Bardhë village, Kurbin municipality is being monitored by the municipality.

We call on the citizens to be careful during these hot days, to notify of any outbreak of fire in a quick time near the structures of the Civil Protection system.
All the forces of the Civil Protection system are in full readiness, with the necessary capacities for intervention from the ground and from the air.
