Fire situation in Albania

Fire situation, today, August 3, 2022, 11:30 a.m

According to the data from the National Operational Center of Civil Emergencies in CPNA, during the last 24 hours, 27 fires have been reported, of which 20 fires have been extinguished and 7 fires are active.
After an uninterrupted work of the operational forces in the field, it became possible to completely isolate and extinguish the fires in:

• Jaran village, Malësi e Madhe municipality;
• Mjedë village, Vig village, Melgushë village and Bushat village, Vau Dejës municipality;
• Beltojë village, Shkodër municipality;
• Sumaj village, Dibër municipality;
• Berdicë village, Shkodër municipality;
• Borizane village and Kasme neighborhood, Krujë municipality;
• Dhivër village, Finiq municipality;
• Romës village, Selenica municipality;
• Nartë village, Vlorë municipality;
• Peshtan village, Poliçan municipality;
• Gorican village, Dimal municipality;
• Marikaj village, Vorë municipality;
• Lekaj village, Rrogozhin municipality;
• Vidhan village, Gramsh municipality;
• Eskaj village and Rrapëz village, Lushnjë municipality.

During the last 24 hours, to extinguish the flames, there were engaged 411 operational forces of fire protection and rescue, armed forces, municipal forces, police forces, employees of the administration of protected areas, forest service, volunteer force, 31 firefighting vehicles and 1 Cougar helicopter, which operated in the place called " Liqeni i Zi, German ", Mat municipality and Shetaj village, Durrës municipality.

Currently, fired are active:
• In Postribë administrative unit, Shkodër municipality. Despite the intervention made by the operational forces yesterday and during the night, it was not possible to extinguish this fire. Local government forces were engaged today, supported by 30 military members.
• In Mali i Zorgji, Shala administrative unit, above the village of Ndrelysa, Shkodër municipality. Currently, the local government forces are working to contain this fire.
• In the place called " Liqeni i Zi, in the village of German, the municipality of Mat. Yesterday, forces from the ground and from the air worked and were able to isolate the fires; the operation continues under the direction of Mat municipality supported by 50 military members.
• In Shetaj village, Durrës municipality. Yesterday, the outbreak was reactivated and as a result of the strong wind, it has spread in an uncontrolled manner, endangering homes and businesses along the coastline. The intervention from the air was immediately carried out to normalize the situation, so that the work could continue from the ground. Today, the forces of the Durrës municipality and military members continued their work for the final extinguishing of the fires.
• In the village of Mukaj, municipality of Kruje. Yesterday evening until the early hours of the morning, the Fire Protection service of Krujë municipality worked to extinguish the fire together with volunteers, forest service forces, emergency sectors and Fire Protection Agency. The fire has covered the entire surface of the hill and today the intensity of the fire is very low and they are working on the final extinguishing.
• In Dragobi village, Tropoje municipality, the fire that fell on a mountain area with beech trees continues to burn with low intensity inside its hearths. Today, the municipal forces and Fire Protection Agency have started work on the isolation of active fires.
• In the village of Skuraj, Kurbin municipality, the fire had an immediate spread, aided by the wind, endangering three apartments. The fire brigade, the forces of the Kurbin municipality and volunteers were put in defense of the houses, removing the danger of their burning. The work continued throughout the night from the Kurbin municipality. The operation continues.
We call on the citizens to be careful during these hot days, to notify of any outbreak of fire in a quick time near the structures of the Civil Defense system as well as the National Operational Center of EC, in CPNA.
All the forces of the Civil Protection system are in full readiness, with the necessary capacities for intervention from the ground and from the air.
