Deteriorating weather expected, Ministry of Defense notifies the municipalities at risk

Starting this afternoon it is expected that there will be high-intensity rainfall, mostly in the north of the country.

Intense rains are expected throughout the territory, starting Tuesday afternoon in Shkodër, Kukës, Dibër and Lezhë. In the urban areas of these cities, localized flooding may occur, depending on the condition of the sewage system.
These phenomena is expected to be accompanied by earthquakes in Shkodër, Kukës, Dibër, Lezhë, Elbasan, Vlorë and Gjirokastër.
Blizzards are predicted in the Alps. While in the mountainous areas at the height above 800-900 m there will be loe intensity snowfall.
Based on these forecasts, the National Civil Defense Agency (AKMC) under the Ministry of Defense requests from the local authorities to increase the readiness of the structures of the Civil Defense system that they manage: water reservoirs, road infrastructure, electricity supply, water supply, river level monitoring and any other structure that is in the function of managing civil emergencies.
AKMC will remain in constant contact with the prefectures and municipalities, according to the determination of the risk degree, which must inform the National Operational Center of Civil Emergencies in time for any situation created.
