Minister Peleshi welcomes the effectives who returned from the operation in Turkey

Defense Minister Niko Peleshi, also accompanied by the Chief of General Staff, Brigadier General Arben Kingji received the effectives who returned from the mission of solidarity to areas destroyed by the February 6th earthquake on the border between Turkey and Syria. In his speech, Minister Peleshi expressed gratitude on behalf of the Ministry of Defense, the Albanian Government and the people, for the work done by members of the teams who were engaged in the field since the early moments, after the call for assistance by the Turkish authorities and the European Mechanism of Civil Protection.

“We have shown throughout history, we also showed this time with your gesture that we are close to other people in difficult days like this case. I want to thank you from the heart on behalf of the Ministry, the Government and the people for the dignified representation of Albania in this risky mission. Even if we would have rescued just one life, it is priceless.” , -said Minister Peleshi.

Mr. Peleshi said that he has received the highest appreciation for the Albanian staff from the Turkish side.

“We were the first country to react and were offered to the call of the European Civil Protection Mechanism. It was an important moment for us because it was the first time after the membership, where we were committed to contributing and not seeking support. We showed it through your work, your sacrifice. We showed that we are part of the Great Alliance's partners network, whether in NATO or in the Europian Mechanism of Civil Protection we are also to contribute.” , - the Defense Minister said during the reception.
