Completed the Search and Rescue Operation in Turkey, Albanian troops were welcomed with a round of applause

The Albanian team that participated in the Search and Rescue Operations in Turkey, completed their work and are returning home. After 11 days of intense work, about 85 troop, including effectives of the Armed Forces, Civil Emergencies and health teams, were accompanied with applause by the representatives of Turkish authorities, but also citizens, who expressed gratitude for their contribution. The moment of escorting Albanian troops is also broadcast by the Turkish IHA news agency (Ihlas Haber Agency).
At the send-off ceremony was present the Albanian Consul in Istanbul, Blerta Kadzadej, who expressed gratitude for the tireless work of Albanian teams.
Colonel Elton Reso said that during the operations, 26 people were rescued by the Albanian teams. He remembers the exciting moment when a little girl was taken out of the rubbles. Albanian teams in coordination with Turkish emergencies, AFAD, were mainly settled in the Malatyas area.
Albania responded immediately to the call for help from Turkey and within 24 hours the first Albanian rescue team arrived in the earthquake areas. Also, on behalf of the Albanian people, the Prime Minister Edi Rama became part of the awareness campaign, donating 1 million euros to assist reconstruction.
