The Naval Force ship "Lissus" sets off on a mission in the Mediterranean Sea, as part of NATO operations

Lissus Ship and a team of Naval Force will be part of NATO's focused operations (FOCOPS) in the Mediterranean Sea.

At the ceremony of escorting the crew, the Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the AF, Major General Manushaqe Shehu, said that: "The Naval Force returns to contribute as a factor in enhancing maritime security, after a successful three-year commitment from 2016 - 2019, in the NATO activity 'Sea Guardian' in the Aegean Sea, where it made it possible to provide assistance to more than 1,800 people, in a life-threating situation. This is a clear indicator of Albania's role as a factor of stability and security in the region and beyond. Unlike the mission carried out in 2016-2019 in the Aegean Sea, which had a humanitarian character, this is the first time that our Naval Force is engaged in a genuine operation to enhance maritime security."

Further in her speech, the Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the AF expressed her conviction that the ship's personnel will show professionalism, dedication and correctness while performing their duties.
Commanders of various forces also participated in the ceremony of escorting the troops.
