NATO summit in Vilnius, Albania committed to increasing Defense spending

NATO members gathered on July 11 and 12, in Vilnius, Lithuania, where the situation in Ukraine was discussed. Part of the Albanian delegation, headed by Prime Minister Edi Rama, was also Defence Minister Niko Peleshi. During the meetings held with leaders of allied and partner countries, there was emphasized Albania's commitment for the long-term political and practical support of Ukraine, which, upon fulfillment of the conditions, will also become part of the Alliance.
In this summit, the allies agreed to increase defense spending, a commitment that Albania has also expressed.
Within the framework of the Vilnius Summit, a special meeting was held with the President of France Emanuel Macron, who is expected to visit Albania soon.
Also, in a meeting requested by the Delegation of American Senators at the NATO Summit, the situation in the North of Kosovo was discussed.
