Peleshi welcomes the commander of KFOR, Major General Angelo Michele Ristuccia at the end of his mandate

Defence Minister Niko Peleshi welcomed today Major General Angelo Michele Ristuccia at the end of his mandate as Commander of the KFOR Mission.
Minister Peleshi emphasized the importance of KFOR presence in Kosovo as a contributor to guarantee security and stability in the region, as well as appreciated the role of Major General Ristuccia as leader of this mission.



The Defence Minister and Major General Ristuccia discussed on the current situation of security in the region and shared their concerns over the recent disturbances in Kosovo.
Mr. Peleshi thanked Major General Ristuccia for his active role in managing the situation and preventing a further escalation. Peleshi emphasized once again the importance of Brussels and Ohrid Agreements’ implementation, as well as the dialogue revival as the only way that could normalize the relations and find long-term political solutions between Kosovo and Serbia.
At the end of the meeting, Minister of Defense awarded the "Medal of Appreciation" to Major General Angelo Michele Ristuccia, for his dedication to the progress of security and stability in the Republic of Kosovo and his unsparing support to the Albanian military contingent serving in the KFOR Mission.
