The US Chargé d’Affaires meets minister Peleshi: Albania, a very reliable ally and partner country for the Alliance

Defence Minister Niko Peleshi hosted in an official meeting the Chargé d'Affaires of the US Embassy in Tirana, David Wisner.
The Minister appreciated the role and responsibilities of the US Mission in our country, expressing gratitude for the continuous and unconditional support of the US to the development of the capacities of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Albania and the excellent cooperation in the field of Defense.
During this meeting, they discussed about the current security environment, challenges on the Eastern border of the Alliance, the regional situation and the war in Ukraine. Special focus during this meeting was given to the cyber security, our country's commitments within NATO and cooperation in the field of Defense with the USA.



The Defence Minister also spoke with Mr. Wisner for the role and commitments of our country in guaranteeing peace and security in the region, expressing full confidence in strengthening the cooperation in the field of Defense.
Both sides expressed concern about the conflict in Ukraine and the importance of support from allies. At the same time was discussed the situation in the North of Kosovo, as well as the possible impact on the stability of the Western Balkans region.
Mr. Wisner expressed his gratitude to the Albania's constructive role in the Western Balkans region and our country's contribution to the Alliance, evaluating Albania as a very reliable ally and partner country: US support will continue to improve the capacities of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Albania, thus facing present challenges.
