Defence Minister receives in a meeting the Commander of SEEBRIG: Albania in support of regional initiatives

 

Defense Minister Niko Peleshi recently convened a meeting with Brigadier General Bilbil Bitri, Commander of the Southeast Europe Brigade (SEEBRIG), along with his accompanying staff. During the meeting, Minister Peleshi extended his congratulations to General Bitri on his appointment as SEEBRIG Commander and reiterated the Ministry of Defense's firm support for regional initiatives promoting good neighborly relations, democratic principles, and collective efforts toward peace and security in the region and beyond.Minister Peleshi reaffirmed Albania's strong backing for the SEDM Initiative and SEEBRIG Brigade, emphasizing the country's commitment to fulfilling all obligations and meeting criteria related to regional commitments.

He urged Brigadier General Bitri and the SEEBRIG staff to actively seek out new opportunities to enhance the visibility of SEEBRIG and its contributions to missions and operations, particularly within NATO and other international organizations.

In response, Brigadier General Bitri expressed gratitude to Minister Peleshi for Albania's consistent support for the SEDM initiative and SEEBRIG.

The SEEBRIG Commander and his team are currently in Albania as part of an assessment visit, fulfilling SEEBRIG's inspection obligations of the military units of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Albania, as stated by SEEBRIG.
