75 years NATO, Albania stands firm alongside its allies in defense of peace

NATO celebrates its 75th Anniversary this year.

Established on April 4, 1949, the largest Political and Military Alliance of countries from Europe and North America marks 75 years of collective defense. With 32 member countries, NATO is a community of allies united by common values of democracy, freedom, human rights, and the rule of law, while maintaining its primary mission of protecting its members from any threat.

Since 1999, the NATO Alliance has been leading the peace support operation in Kosovo through KFOR, which continues to contribute to maintaining a safe environment in Kosovo and the region.

The Albanian Armed Forces are involved in this mission, as well as in other missions in volatile regions around the world.

Albania has been a member of the Transatlantic Alliance since 2009, and this year marks the 15th Anniversary of its full membership. Defense Minister of Albania expresses its unwavering commitment to stand by its allies and partners in facing the current challenges.

In honor of this Anniversary, a grand ceremony will be organized in the Land Force, on April the 9-th, where dignitaries from the country and member states of the Alliance are expected to participate.
