Today, the Council of Ministers gave the green light to a draft decision aimed at proposing the "For the financing of the arrears of payment of employees and former employees of the Mechanical Combine in Poliçan." The precarious financial situation faced by military enterprises, especially the Mechanical Combine in Poliçan, compelled the government to take action to resolve longstanding issues for its workforce.

Following the government meeting, Minister Peleshi underscored that upon the law's approval in the Assembly, the Ministry of Defence will allocate 83,800,000 Lek to cover the backlog of employee salaries at the Poliçan Mechanical Combine. Minister Peleshi stated: "In total, 131 former and current employees (comprising 127 former employees and 4 current employees) will benefit from this funding to settle salary arrears and social and health contributions for the period 2017-2023."

The draft law, slated for Assembly approval following today's decision, outlines the conditions and procedures for implementing this financing scheme for the Poliçan Mechanical Combine.

Minister Peleshi emphasized that this pivotal measure signifies significant support for both current and former employees of the combine, effectively addressing a persistent issue and bringing about positive change in their lives.
