Minister Peleshi meets with counterparts in Brussels, signs cooperation agreement on natural disasters



Defense Minister Niko Peleshi is currently attending the NATO Defense Ministerial in Brussels, where he has met with his counterparts from various NATO member countries.
In a meeting with Slovenia's Defense Minister, Marjan Šarec, the primary focus was on enhancing bilateral cooperation in security and defense. They also discussed strengthening ties within NATO and fostering regional cooperation.

A significant outcome of this meeting was the signing of the Agreement on Cooperation for Protection against Natural Disasters. This agreement aims to establish a legal framework for effective disaster prevention, preparedness, and mutual aid in the event of natural disasters.



Minister Peleshi also met with Sweden's Defense Minister, Pål Jonson, where they explored initiating concrete defense cooperation between the two countries. Minister Peleshi proposed the creation of a bilateral agreement in the field of Security and Defense, which would serve as a solid foundation for future cooperation.
Additionally, they discussed potential collaboration in the military industry, including the support and assistance Sweden could offer Albania and the possibility of partnering with renowned Swedish military industries.
