Defense Minister Niko Peleshi Pays Tribute to the Genius of Albanian Literature, Ismail Kadare

Defense Minister Niko Peleshi paid tribute to the renowned writer Ismail Kadare, a literary genius, who passed away on July 1, 2024. Minister Peleshi placed a wreath on behalf of the Ministry of Defense, symbolizing respect and gratitude for Kadare's immense contribution to enhancing Albania's image and heritage through his internationally acclaimed works.

The minister extended his heartfelt condolences to Kadare's wife and daughters, Besiana and Gresa. He praised Kadare as a towering figure among a generation of talented creators, patriots, and visionaries who fueled our nation's quest for emancipation, civilization, and modernization.

High-ranking officials from Albania, Kosovo, North Macedonia, and other regions paid their respects at the state ceremony organized by the Albanian government.
