In the past 24 hours, two fires were detected in the Vlora district, which were finally extinguished through the combined efforts of the fire brigades, Armed Forces, employees of the Protected Areas administration, the Electricity Distribution Operator, and other forces under the coordination of the National Civil Protection Agency (NCPA).
At the request of local authorities, to protect nearby houses, a Cougar helicopter and Armed Forces personnel were engaged in extinguishing fires in the Kondraq neighborhood and Dhërmi on Thursday afternoon.
The most critical situation occurred in Qafa e Llogara, where another fire broke out yesterday afternoon. Due to the spread of smoke throughout the area, the National Civil Protection Agency requested that drivers avoid this road to assist emergency forces. This Friday morning, after several hours of operation, members of the Armed Forces succeeded in extinguishing the flames and preventing damage to the Llogara National Park.
An investigative group is working to fully understand the circumstances of the fire in Qafa e Llogara and to bring those responsible to justice. The National Civil Protection Agency and the Ministry of Defense urge residents to be vigilant, especially during these hot months when the risk of fire is higher.
