Two Canadair CL-415 aircraft from the Hellenic Fire Force are assisting Albanian civil emergency forces in extinguishing fires in Dropull and Finiq.
The Greek planes are providing support through the European Civil Protection Mechanism. They join efforts with our Armed Forces, firefighters, civil emergency workers, and local structures, who have been battling the flames for two days.
Defense Minister Niko Peleshi expressed his gratitude to the Italian and Croatian governments for their willingness to provide aircraft as well.
The fire situation in the municipality of Dropull is under control, but efforts continue to isolate all fires and prevent their reactivation
