Upon assuming his role, Defense Minister Pirro Vengu got an up-close look at the coordinated efforts of the National Civil Defense Agency across the country and the response of all forces involved in tackling the recent fire outbreaks amid extreme temperatures.

During his visit to the National Civil Defense Operational Center, Minister Vengu stressed the importance of real-time hotspot identification and a swift response to emergencies. "Modernizing tools, systems, and equipment to manage emergencies in every municipality is a priority. We will continue to invest heavily in this area." - Vengu stated, emphasizing that: "The NCDA is a resource available to local authorities and prefects to mobilize a wide range of national resources for quicker situation management."

Effective emergency management also involves raising awareness among residents and responsible entities to take preventive measures. "The National Civil Defense Agency will continue to invest in enhancing the capabilities of municipal emergency personnel and raising community awareness in high-risk areas. We must focus on preventive measures and community awareness regarding specific responses to certain risks. This ensures that interventions are faster and more efficient." - the Defense Minister concluded.
