Fire situation in Albania, August 2, 2024, 10:00 a.m
According to the National Operational Center for Civil Emergencies, 27 fires have been reported in the last 24 hours, with 18 successfully extinguished due to the continuous efforts of operational forces. Currently, fires remain active between Kakarriqi village in the Balldren administrative unit and Gjadër village in the Dajç administrative unit in Lezha municipality, as well as in Zavalinë village in Elbasan municipality. In the Gostime administrative unit of Elbasan municipality, forces are working to extinguish another fire.
Emergency teams are also working to put out fires in the Bode forest area of Maliq municipality, Kus village in Tirana municipality, Mushnik village in Rrogozhina municipality, Vorfa village in Malësi e Madhe municipality, Salari village in Tepelena municipality, and the Qafshtama National Park in Kruja municipality. Currently, none of these fires pose a risk to residential areas.
In the last 24 hours, 599 operational personnel and 452 vehicles have been engaged in firefighting operations. We request that all institutions and Civil Defense System structures commit fully to managing these fire-related situations. We also urge citizens to report any issues promptly to emergency numbers. The National Agency for Civil Protection will continue to monitor the situation and deploy resources at both national and international levels.
