Commitment to firefighting efforts, Minister Vengu acknowledges the Southern Infantry Regiment Personnel in Poshnje

The Southern Infantry Regiment, part of the Land Forces, has made significant contributions to civil emergency operations this year.

In just the past month, 1,057 personnel and 85 vehicles took part in 35 firefighting missions across Llogarë, Vlorë, Pashaliman, Himarë, Delvinë, Dropull, Gjirokastra, Sarandë, Tepelenë, Berat, Maliq, Korçë, and most recently, Konispol. Defense Minister Pirro Vengu visited Poshnja, where he met with members of the regiment and thanked them for their tireless efforts in supporting the community. During his visit, the Minister emphasized the importance of ongoing modernization efforts within the Armed Forces—not only to meet NATO's collective security commitments but also to achieve the national missions and priorities of the Armed Forces.

While in Poshnje, the Defense Minister shared a meal with the Southern Infantry Regiment personnel, who offered a glimpse into their daily routines.
