Fire situation in the country, August 19, 2024, 09:30..

After several weeks of intense firefighting across many areas of the country, the situation today is notably calmer.

In the past 24 hours, 31 fires were reported, with 28 fully extinguished. Only 3 fires remain active at this time.

Currently, the fires in Arrë (municipality of Kukës), Fushë - Lugje (Mirdita), and Buçaj (Shkodra) are contained and pose no risk of spreading. These areas are being closely monitored to prevent any potential reactivation.

We extend our gratitude to all Civil Emergency operational teams, including the Fire Brigade, Albanian Armed Forces, State Police, Forestry Service, Protected Areas personnel, and volunteers. Their dedicated efforts and hard work have been crucial in minimizing damage and safeguarding both lives and property.
