Albania welcomes the 27th Conference of the Chiefs of the General Staff of the “Adriatic Charter (USA-A5)”

The 27th conference of the Chiefs of General Staff of the US - Adriatic Charter Initiative (A5) will take place on September 17-19, 2024, in Tirana.
This conference will be co-chaired by the Chief of General Staff of AAF Major General Arben Kingji and the Commander of the American Command in Europe, General Christopher Cavoli.
The focus of this conference will be the developments and dynamics in the security environment in the region and beyond, increasing Defense spending above the 2% threshold of Gross Domestic Product as a way to meet the Alliance's capacity objectives and planning objectives and NATO review for partner countries.
The conference will bring together the A-5 signatory countries: USA, Albania, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Croatia, Montenegro and North Macedonia. In this conference, the participation of two of the three countries with A-5 observer status, Kosovo and Slovenia, the Commander of the NATO Joint Force Command in Naples, Italy, as well as the general adjutants from the respective countries of the Program of US National Guard Partnership (New Jersey, Maryland, Minnesota, Vermont, Maine), States of the Observer State Partnership Program (Ohio, Colorado, Iowa).
The conference will serve as a platform to analyze the achievements so far, support of the efforts for membership in the initiative and NATO of the aspirant countries and identify possible areas of military cooperation in the future. Also, during the conference, the opportunity for bilateral meetings between the authorities represented at the conference will be offered.
