Major General Özkan Ulutaş concludes his role as KFOR Commander, Minister Vengu hosts a meeting in his honor

Defence Minister Mr. Pirro Vengu, held a special meeting with Major General Özkan Ulutaş as he concluded his duties as Commander of KFOR. Minister Vengu thanked Major General Ulutaş for his excellent work as KFOR Commander, while also wishing him success in his new role in Turkey.
The Defence Minister and the KFOR Commander discussed the situation in northern Kosovo. Minister Vengu informed the KFOR Commander that during his meetings with Kosovo’s institutional leaders, he emphasized the importance of coordinating actions with allies and KFOR.
The KFOR Commander noted that the situation on the ground remains tense. Both parties agreed that improving relations between the sides would also lead to an improvement in the situation on the ground. However, the Defence Minister stressed the importance of continuing to recognize the Kosovo Security Force as the first responder and ensuring it remains in that role.
During the conversation, Minister Vengu and the KFOR Commander also discussed Albania's efforts to revitalize its military industry.
