Fires in Greece, Albania provides assistance with firefighters and equipment

The Ministry of Defense of Albania has swiftly responded to the Greek authorities' request for assistance in extinguishing the wildfires that have been raging for three days in Xilocastro, Peloponnese.
In coordination with the Civil Protection Agency and the European Civil Protection Mechanism, Albania will send 30 firefighters and 5 firefighting vehicles to support the operations in Greece.
The Albanian firefighters will be deployed according to the needs expressed by Greece and will remain on-site until the situation is under control. As a member of the European Civil Protection Mechanism, Albania stands ready to assist its allies and partners in the event of natural disasters.
