All civil emergency structures have remained on the ground since yesterday afternoon, working to address the issues caused by heavy rainfall. Thanks to the overnight efforts and the cessation of rain, the situation has improved.
Currently, the focus of all structures—Vlora Municipality, Vlora Regional Water Utility, Local Police Directorate, OSHEE, and the Prefecture—is on four intersections that remain blocked in the city, which was heavily affected by the recent weather conditions.
Supporting them are 24 Armed Forces personnel, equipped with 5 transport vehicles, 3 high-mobility vehicles, and 2 water pumps. Teams are working to remove water from residential blocks near the blocked intersections, including the University area, “Albano and Romina” street, New Shops, and the Orthodox Church. There is also water inside the city mosque.
The Armed Forces personnel are using two pumps to clear water from the main pumping station, where water levels remain high. The city’s drainage system is operating at full capacity, gradually reducing water levels. Electricity has been cut off in some residential blocks, particularly where electrical cabins are flooded.
The situation continues to be monitored on the ground by local authorities and the Director of Readiness and Operational Actions at the National Civil Protection Agency.
