Minister Vengu addresses AFA students: Increasing investments to transform it into a command school

 

At the start of the academic year, Minister of Defense Pirro Vengu addressed students at the Armed Forces Academy, alongside Minister of Education and Sports Ogerta Manastirliu, Kosovo's Minister of Defense Ejup Maqedonci, and Chief of General Staff Major General Arben Kingji.

In his speech, Minister Vengu highlighted the Albanian government’s commitment to enhancing the dignity of military service and transforming the Academy into a leading command school that provides secure and challenging career opportunities. He stated: “We aim to increase the number of uniformed personnel and will invest significantly in contemporary knowledge areas, particularly in information technology and cyber defense, to meet the needs of our national strategies.”

Vengu emphasized the need for the Albanian Armed Forces to extend their responsibilities beyond national defense, aiming to prepare human resources valuable both within the Armed Forces and in civilian roles. He noted the importance of offering comprehensive career opportunities, stating that NATO countries have established strong dynamics between military and civilian careers.

Minister Manastirliu expressed pride in the increasing number of young individuals choosing to join the Armed Forces, stating, “Patriotism, honor, duty! This inspiring motto reflects our collective commitment as we wish success to the 80 first-year students and over 300 students at the Armed Forces Academy.”

Kosovo's Defence Minister, Ejup Maqedonci, commended the deepening cooperation between the two ministries, highlighting joint training and exercises that foster knowledge exchange and strengthen interpersonal relationships among military personnel from both nations.
