Civil Emergency projects: Minister Vengu meets with mayors of Lezhë District

Following meetings in Durrës and Shkodër, Defense Minister Pirro Vengu met with the mayors of Lezhë district to announce the opening of applications for Civil Defense projects. Also present were Justice Minister Ulsi Manja, who is the Socialist Party’s political delegate for the area, Lezhë Prefect Gjergj Prendi, AKMC Director Haki Çako, and the mayors of Lezhë, Mirditë, and Kurbin.

During discussions with local leaders, Minister Vengu highlighted this year’s government priorities to boost emergency preparedness. He noted, “Lezhë, a district with high risk based on past experience, needs funding for preventive infrastructure projects, dam reconstruction, and necessary equipment.” He invited the local officials to collaborate and complete the most crucial projects in their municipalities by the November 25 deadline.

With this call for projects, the Ministry of Defense seeks to strengthen vigilance and Civil Defense across the country, while equipping local structures to better manage emergencies
