Albanian Defense Minister Pirro Vengu met with Italian Defense Minister Guido Crosetto in Rome. In his conversation with Minister Crosetto, Minister Vengu expressed gratitude for Italy’s commitment and teamwork in advancing cooperation between the two nations.
Minister Vengu highlighted the significance of the strong partnership with Italy, particularly in light of shared challenges in the Adriatic-Ionian region and the need for coordinated security efforts in the Western Balkans. Both ministers confirmed their determination to build on this strategic alliance, supported by the leadership of Prime Ministers Giorgia Meloni and Edi Rama, to bring progress in the field of military industry as well.
They also discussed security dynamics in the Western Balkans, joint NATO and EU operations with a focus on the KFOR mission in Kosovo, as well as the development of Albania’s military capabilities and potential growth in naval defense industry initiatives.
