The pilots and onboard technicians of the Cougar helicopter conducted a demonstration flight, flying over Flag Square where the 112th Anniversary of Independence Ceremony was taking place, while waving the national flag. They continued along the promenade and flew towards Orikum.
Following this, the Cougar and Black Hawk helicopters of the Air Force, the Naval Force ships, and the Special Operations Regiment carried out a demonstration in the Bay of Vlora. In addition to the citizens, the event was closely observed by Minister of Defense Pirro Vengu, Chief of General Staff Major General Arben Kingji, and other senior officials from the Ministry of Defense and the Armed Forces.
The troops and equipment involved simulated a maritime interdiction operation, taking control of a suspected vessel by intervening from the sea with inflatable boats and boarding teams from the Naval Force, as well as from the air with Special Forces troops and the Cougar and Black Hawk helicopters.
Earlier, top state leaders, including President Bajram Begaj, Speaker of the Assembly Elisa Spiropali, Prime Minister Edi Rama and Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo Albin Kurti, participated in the 112th Anniversary of Independence Ceremony in Vlora, where they laid wreaths at the grave of Ismail Qemali.
