Minister Vengu awards the Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces the rank of Lieutenant General

In a special ceremony, Arben Kingji was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant General, following a decree from the President of the Republic. The promotion was presented by Defence Minister Pirro Vengu.
Minister Vengu praised Kingji for his career, noting his successful service in various roles, from Afghanistan to commanding the Land Force.
He highlighted that this third star, awarded after almost 15 years, was well deserved. The Minister emphasized Kingji’s character and dedication to defending national interests and modernizing the Armed Forces.

Vengu also stated that Kingji's promotion serves as inspiration for other military personnel, showing that dedication and discipline can lead to the top of a military career. He added that generals and officers are a national asset, and their contribution to state functions, whether active or reserve, should be encouraged.

Lieutenant General Kingji expressed gratitude for the recognition and thanked all Armed Forces personnel for their support. He acknowledged the challenges faced by the Armed Forces since the 1990s and praised their role in modernization and reform.
