The Higher Course on Security and Defense has officially begun at the College of Defense and Security, bringing together representatives from the Albanian Armed Forces, national security institutions, and NATO member states.
The opening ceremony of this prestigious program—recognized as the highest-level course in the military education pyramid for the Armed Forces—was attended by Deputy Defence Minister Blerina Abrazhda, Deputy Chief of the General Staff, Brigadier General Altin Kurti, accredited military attachés, as well as senior commanders and directors within the Armed Forces.
In her address, Deputy Minister Abrazhda emphasized the significance of this course in preparing what she described as the leaders of tomorrow:

"This course is not merely an academic training but a pivotal platform for deepening knowledge, fostering strategic thinking, exchanging ideas, and strengthening cooperation among security and defense professionals. It brings together senior officers and officials from Albania, the region, NATO countries, and partner nations, reinforcing our shared commitment to security and stability. Security and defense are fundamental pillars of any sovereign and stable state. In an era where security challenges are becoming increasingly complex, we need well-prepared leaders and experts who can analyze, anticipate, and effectively respond to evolving threats." she stated.

The 15th edition of the Higher Course on Security and Defense hosts 18 senior military officers from Albania, Kosovo, Croatia, Georgia, Hungary, Italy, and Turkey, along with distinguished civilian professionals from various national security institutions.

The program provides in-depth knowledge and analytical training on defense and security issues at national, regional, and international levels.
Its primary objective is to enhance the strategic-level expertise of military personnel and civilian professionals within the Ministry of Defense, the Armed Forces, and other national security institutions, as well as their counterparts from allied nations.
Conducted in English, the course spans approximately three months and is set to conclude on May 23, 2025.
