Light Infantry Battalion Group launches "Arbër’s Shield-25" exercise – Minister Vengu: Advancing towards full rearmament

The Light Infantry Battalion Group (GBKL) has begun the Arbër’s Shield-25 deployment exercise across various regions of Albania. Defence Minister Pirro Vengu emphasized the exercise’s role in strengthening interoperability and operational readiness, following NATO’s "Combat Ready" certification in 2022
Vengu highlighted the integration of modern capabilities, including drones, encrypted communication systems and NATO-standard weaponry, while stressing the need for further rearmament to meet evolving security challenges. He reaffirmed the government's commitment to improving military conditions, infrastructure, and equipment.
This exercise also prepares Albania for NATO's Defender 2025 and other key multinational drills.
