Defense Minister Pirro Vengu meets Croatian Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister Ivan Anušić in Tirana

Albanian Defense Minister Pirro Vengu met with Croatian Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister Ivan Anušić, who is in Tirana for a two-day visit.
“The relations between Albania and Croatia are excellent and contribute to security and stability in the region,” stated Minister Vengu, expressing appreciation for Croatia’s unwavering support of Albania’s European Union integration process.
For his part, Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister Anušić praised Albania’s role in the region and its significant progress in EU accession negotiations.
Both parties shared a common assessment of the risks and threats facing Southeastern Europe, emphasizing the need for increased NATO attention in the Adriatic-Ionian region, where Albania and Croatia can undertake joint initiatives.
In this context, the two ministers reaffirmed their commitment to advancing cooperation in military capacity-building and defense industry development.
Additionally, as part of efforts to strengthen defense collaboration, a trilateral joint declaration between Albania, Croatia, and Kosovo will be signed on Tuesday.
Alongside his meeting with Minister Vengu, Deputy Prime Minister Anušić will also hold talks with the President of Albania Bajram Begaj, and the Speaker of Parliament Elisa Spiropali.
