The 80th Anniversary of the former "Skënderbej" Military High School gathered alumni, former educators, military officials, and state representatives, including Defence Minister Pirro Vengu and Chief of the General Staff, Lieutenant General Arben Kingji.
The event opened with a powerful rendition of the national anthem and included a documentary honoring the school’s historical contribution to military education.
In his remarks, Minister Vengu praised the enduring influence of the school on the Armed Forces:
“The name Skënderbegas still carries historical weight within our Armed Forces. You are a symbol of dedication, honor, discipline, and patriotism. This school has proudly educated generations — and like any great institution, it has deep roots and fruitful branches.” - he said.
He emphasized the importance of revisiting the values and teaching methods that shaped military leaders across decades and announced that next year’s celebration will be held in a larger space within the new Armed Forces Academy campus in Tufina.
Four distinguished alumni were honored during the ceremony with certificates of recognition for their outstanding contributions.
