Lieutenant General Arben Kingji, official visit to Italy

Chief of the General Staff of the Albanian Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Arben Kingji at the invitation of the Italian Chief of Defense Staff, General Luciano Portolano, paid an official visit to Italy.

During the meeting with General Portolano, Lieutenant General Arben Kingji expressed his gratitude for the valuable support of a friendly country like Italy for our Armed Forces, which has contributed to strengthening our operational capacities and increasing interoperability.
Lieutenant General Kingji, describing as special the relations between our two countries, stated that this is also reflected in military cooperation, both bilaterally and regionally, as well as within the NATO Alliance framework.
Further during the meeting, the two counterparts discussed the security situation in the region and beyond, while considering that the presence of KFOR in Kosovo is and remains important for a peaceful and secure region.
Lieutenant General Arben Kingji and General Portolano during the meeting confirmed the willingness to further deepen this cooperation, both within the framework of regional initiatives and joint exercises, as well as in the spirit of NATO Deterrence and Defense set of plans.
