Current wildfire situation across the country


In the past 24 hours, 52 wildfire outbreaks have been identified across the country. Of these, 2 remain active, 4 are under monitoring, and 46 have been extinguished.

The active fires are located in the following areas:

• Western area of the Skërfica tunnel, Gjirokastër Municipality: Due to the steep terrain and extremely dense vegetation, it has not been possible to deploy firefighting teams directly. Today, the fire is being monitored by the municipal firefighting service.

• Spatharë village, Skrapar Municipality: The fire has affected a pasture area. Operational forces from all relevant structures are on the ground working to bring the fire under control.
The following areas are currently being monitored to prevent reactivation:

• Prespa National Park, Lajthizë village, Pustec Municipality

• Dishnicë village, Korçë Municipality

• Strelcë village, Maliq Municipality

• Veliq village, Tropojë Municipality
The firefighting efforts have involved:

• 52 fire engines

• 722 operational personnel

• 2 Armed Forces helicopters, which were deployed yesterday to operate in two specific areas
According to the Geosciences Institute, light to locally moderate rainfall is expected today in the districts of Shkodër, Kukës, Lezhë, and Durrës, and light rainfall is expected in most other districts.

As for forest fire risk levels, today a HIGH risk is expected in the districts of Elbasan, Fier, Berat, and Korçë, while a MODERATE risk is expected in the rest of the country.
Authorities are urging citizens to exercise maximum caution, avoid any actions that could spark a fire, and immediately report any suspicious fire outbreaks to the relevant emergency services.
