Commemoration of the Land Force Command, Vengu: Modernization, equipment, and human capital are a duty for the Armed Forces

A special ceremony was held at the Land Force Command in Zall-Herr to mark the anniversary of this key structure of the Albanian Armed Forces. Attending were the Defence Minister Pirro Vengu; Chief of the General Staff, Lieutenant General Arben Kingji; senior military leaders; and representatives of both military and civilian personnel.

In his remarks, Minister Vengu emphasized the vital role of the Land Force Command in rebuilding the Albanian army and consolidating the state after a challenging period. He highlighted that modernizing and strengthening military capabilities is not a luxury but a duty to ensure national security, sovereignty, and development. “The restructuring of the Land Force was not merely formal, it was a necessity. Since then, the Land Force has faced many challenges, from international missions in Afghanistan, Southeastern Europe, and the Baltic region to domestic operations protecting lives, territory, and environmental assets.” he said.

Lieutenant General Ilir Xhebexhia, Commander of the Land Force, noted that the true strength of the force comes from the dedication of every service member. He praised their discipline, resilience, and the silent support of their families.

The ceremony also included a greeting from the former Land Force Commander, Major General (Res.) Nazmi Cahani, who expressed pride and gratitude for the sacrifices and achievements of the personnel.

The event concluded with a display of modern equipment and armaments currently in use by the Land Force, reflecting a high standard of operational readiness.
