Secretary General Rutte praised Albania’s contributions to the Alliance, highlighting its commitment:
"This year, Albania will reach the 2% defense spending target, a significant achievement. You are developing your industrial base and supporting Ukraine through missions in Wiesbaden and various training programs. Albania is active in Latvia, Bulgaria, Kosovo, and beyond. NATO can always rely on Albania, just as Albania relies on NATO."
Prime Minister Rama emphasized Albania’s determination to further strengthen its engagement:
"We want to do more. We are working to revive our defense industry and are committed to the new military port project in Porto-Romano. We also have a strong interest in the EU ‘Safe’ program, which directly addresses security issues."
The meeting reaffirmed the strong partnership between Albania and NATO, demonstrating the country’s continued commitment to peace, stability, and security in the region and beyond.
