17 Years in NATO: A steadfast commitment to security and Euro-Atlantic values

"On this day, 17 years ago, at a historic moment, we secured our place as a member of NATO, the largest military alliance in history. An achievement that was not merely a formal act, but a strategic choice and a clear expression of Albania’s commitment to Euro-Atlantic values, democracy, and collective security.

Throughout this journey, we take pride in everything we have built over these 17 years.

In the trust we have earned and upheld with dignity; in our continuous efforts to strengthen our capabilities and modernise our Armed Forces; and in the professionalism of the women and men in uniform who represent Albania with honour in every mission.

We are proud of the role we have established as a factor of stability and a reference point for security in the region, standing shoulder to shoulder with our Allies—from peacekeeping missions to major international operations, always in service of peace, stability, and Euro-Atlantic values.

Anyone who knows Albania understands why we contribute with such dedication to collective defence: because we understand the value of freedom, and we know what security and solidarity truly mean.

Our journey continues with greater responsibility, greater ambition, and the same unwavering commitment to remain a reliable Ally and an active contributor to global security."
