Defence Minister Ermal Nufi honours the fallen: Gratitude to those who placed Albania above all

The Defence Minister, Ermal Nufi, today took part in the official commemorations marking 5 May, the Day of the Martyrs of the Homeland, paying tribute to those who fell for the country’s freedom.

During the ceremony, attended by the President of the Republic, Bajram Begaj, Prime Minister Edi Rama, and Deputy Speaker of Parliament Klodiana Spahiu, state leaders laid wreaths and paid their respects at the Mother Albania Monument.
In his message, Defence Minister Nufi expressed deep respect and gratitude for the supreme sacrifice of the fallen, emphasising that those who gave their lives for the Homeland remain a lasting source of inspiration for future generations.
“Eternal glory to the Martyrs of the Homeland. We honour their sacrifice with respect and express our gratitude to those who placed Albania above all,” the Defence Minister stated.
5 May remains a day of reflection and gratitude for all those who sacrificed their lives for Albania’s freedom, standing as a cornerstone of the nation’s identity and its European future.
