Defence Minister Ermal Nufi hosts SACE President, discusses investments in defence modernization

Defence Minister Ermal Nufi met today in Tirana with the President of SACE, Mr. Guglielmo Picchi, to explore opportunities for cooperation in support of the modernization and further development of Albania’s defence and security sector.

The discussions focused on initiatives aimed at promoting technological innovation, strengthening operational capabilities, and advancing strategic investments in defence. The two sides also exchanged views on financial and guarantee mechanisms that could support the implementation of projects of shared interest and contribute to long-term cooperation.

Minister Nufi reaffirmed Albania’s commitment to working closely with allied countries and international partners in order to enhance national security and resilience while supporting sustainable economic growth.

“Albania remains dedicated to building strong partnerships with allies and institutions that contribute to greater security, resilience, and economic development. Modernization, technological advancement, and the strengthening of defence capabilities remain among our key national priorities,” Minister Nufi said.

Both sides highlighted the importance of expanding cooperation between Albania and Italian institutions, emphasizing the potential for strategic projects and investments that would contribute to the development of the defence sector and strengthen bilateral relations.
