Welcomed by New Jersey Governor Mikie Sherrill and Brigadier General Yvonne L. Mays

Defence Minister Ermal Nufi visited the New Jersey State House, where he was warmly welcomed by New Jersey Governor Mikie Sherrill, as well as Brigadier General Yvonne L. Mays, Adjutant General of New Jersey and Commissioner of Military and Veterans Affairs.
The visit marks the first stop in a series of events commemorating the 25th anniversary of the successful partnership between Albania and the New Jersey National Guard. Over the past quarter-century, this cooperation has made a significant contribution to strengthening defence capabilities, security cooperation, and interoperability between the two allied nations.
“The strategic partnership with the United States remains one of the cornerstones of Albania’s security and defence policy. Albania will continue to be a reliable ally, contributing responsibly to peace, stability, and our shared security,” - Minister Nufi stated in a post on social media.
Throughout the week, Minister Nufi will participate in a number of activities in New Jersey marking the 25th anniversary of the State Partnership Program.
He will also travel to Washington, D.C., for a series of meetings and bilateral discussions focused on defence cooperation and shared security priorities.
