Defence Minister Nufi holds meetings at the U.S. Department of State

During his visit to the United States, Defence Minister Ermal Nufi held meetings at the U.S. Department of State with Sonata Coulter, Deputy Assistant Secretary in the Bureau of European and Eurasian Affairs, and Rachel Schiller, Deputy Assistant Secretary in the Bureau of Political-Military Affairs.

In a post on social media, Minister Nufi highlighted that discussions focused on cooperation within the NATO Alliance and opportunities to further strengthen bilateral defence relations between Albania and the United States.

“U.S. Department of State, Washington, D.C. A constructive discussion with Deputy Assistant Secretary Sonata Coulter of the Bureau of European and Eurasian Affairs and Deputy Assistant Secretary Rachel Schiller of the Bureau of Political-Military Affairs. We are advancing cooperation within the NATO Alliance and exploring new opportunities to further strengthen our bilateral defence partnership,” - Minister Nufi wrote.

During his visit to the United States, Minister Nufi also participated in the Bilateral Defence Consultations held at the Pentagon on 11–12 June. The U.S. delegation was led by Alton Buland, Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for European and NATO Policy.

The consultations underscored the shared commitment of Albania and the United States to further strengthen their strategic partnership across multiple areas of defence and security cooperation.
