Defence Minister Nufi at the Pentagon for high-level meetings and bilateral defence consultations

On 11–12 June, bilateral defence consultations between Albania and the United States were held at the Pentagon, reaffirming the strong and enduring strategic partnership between the two allied countries.

The U.S. delegation was led by Alton Buland, Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for European and NATO Policy.
The consultations focused on advancing cooperation across a broad range of defence and security issues, with both sides emphasizing the importance of maintaining momentum in strengthening the strategic partnership between Albania and the United States.
During the discussions, Defence Minister Ermal Nufi highlighted Albania’s growing contribution within the framework of this partnership and reaffirmed the country's commitment to further deepening bilateral cooperation.
“We are proud of Albania’s growing engagement and contribution within this strategic partnership, and we look forward to further strengthening our friendship and cooperation." - Minister Nufi stated.
The Minister also expressed Albania’s appreciation for the longstanding support provided by the United States.
“Albania deeply values the continued and enduring support of the United States and its people. We will always remain grateful for the extraordinary support and actions the United States has taken in support of throughout our history. It is clear that the United States will continue to be Albania’s most strategic partner, and your support remains essential to us in the fields of security and defence,” Minister Nufi said.
The consultations reaffirmed the shared commitment of both countries to strengthening defence cooperation, enhancing regional and Euro-Atlantic security, and advancing common strategic objectives within NATO.
